We are proud to announce that Patrick Penninckx, Secretary-General, will be a speaker at the upcoming “Empowering Learners for a Democratic Future” conference. This significant event marks the launch of the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025 and will take place on 23–24 January 2025 in Strasbourg, France, organised by the Council of Europe.

During Patrick Penninckx’s session, titled “Digital Citizenship Education: Stakeholder Perspectives,” he will delve into:

  • The opportunities that digital citizenship education provides to senior citizens.
  • The challenges seniors face in the digital landscape.
  • Practical, action-oriented solutions to overcome these challenges.

His contribution will underline the ESU’s commitment to empowering senior citizens by ensuring their inclusion in the digital era and fostering their active participation in democratic processes.
