Participation of Patrick Penninckx in the Upcoming International Seminar
From 30 January to 2 February 2025, the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona will host the International Seminar titled “Labour Shortages: Between Demography and Migration – Responses from European Workers’ Organisations”. Supported by the European Union, the event will address challenges in the labour market linked to demographic shifts and migration.
On 1 February, Patrick Penninckx, our Secretary General, will join a round table titled Demography/Immigration: Employment Consequences. He will emphasise the role of seniors, inclusive labour policies, and support for vulnerable groups. Other panellists include Susana Clerici (Fedelatina) and Uwe Terhorst (Christian Democratic Workers’ Union of Germany).
This seminar highlights the need for collaborative solutions to labour shortages. The ESU remains dedicated to fostering intergenerational solidarity and inclusive employment strategies.
