A Message of Reflection and Hope for the Future
On 30 December 2024, An Hermans, our former President, represented the ESU at the funeral of Dr Bernhard Worms in Pulheim, Germany. During her intervention she thanked Dr. Worms for his tireless efforts as ESU President (2001-2013) to strengthen the organisation, especially during a period of European expansion and integration.
“Dr Worms understood that the spirit of Europe is built not just around conference tables but also in the hearts of its people, rooted in shared values and mutual understanding. His unwavering commitment to this vision and his lifelong dedication to learning and leading by example have left an indelible mark on all of us.”
